Biography

Samuel Stewart Witwer was born October 20, 1977.  Known as Stewart or Stew to his friends, Witwer grew up in Glenview Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.

Sam attended Glenbrook South High School.  While in high school, he was active in the theater program.  Sam’s love of music was also apparent and he fronted a band called Love Plumber.

After high school, Sam attended the prestigious  Julliard School of Drama in New York.  From there, he moved to California and began working in his chosen profession.

Sam started getting guest parts on various programs including ER, Jag, and Cold Case.  Success came when Sam accepted the role of Lieutenant Alex “Crashdown” Quartararo on the new Battlestar Galactica.

Sam’s love of music remained strong and The Crashtones were born..  Sam took to the studio to record Colorful of the Stereo.  Sam, along with his alter egos Ronnie Armstrong, Johnny Crash, Wayde Ruffalo and Sam Tambarillo James wrote and recorded Colorful of the Stereo.

Sam has continued to act, appearing in numerous TV roles.  He recently appeared in the feature film The Mist as Wayne Jessup, a role created by the film’s screenwriter/director Frank Darabont.

Most recently, Sam, a self proclaimed Star Wars fanatic worked with LucasArts on a new video game.  Sam plays the role of the emperor’s secret apprentice in the upcoming video game The Force Unleashed. Not only does Sam voice the character of the apprentice, but LucasArts also modeled the character after him.

Sam also played Davis Bloome, paramedic and alter ego of Doomsday on Smallville, and is now starring in the Syfy hit Being Human as Aidan, a vampire who wants nothing more than to live a “normal” life.
